Meet Bonita Village, a gated community located by a river, the Atlantic Ocean, and one of the most attractive beaches on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. It lies at the end of a dead-end road, on the west side of Las Terrenas, in the Samaná province, only 5 minutes away from the touristic center of the town.

 

This magnificent 10-hectare residential complex with direct access to a wide sandy beach is filled with high-end villas and apartments, scattered around a natural lagoon and a large tropical garden. This privileged natural space is one reason locals love this residential area. Playa Las Ballenas is one of the most sought-after areas of Las Terrenas because there you can find all you need to enjoy your vacation, such as delicious restaurants on the beach, small hotels, a mini market, a sailing club, and a nautical center. The beach is gorgeous and has some nice snorkeling spots thanks to a massive reef in front. It gets significantly busier during the weekends. It is only 5 minutes from the center of town.

 

The wooden walkways allow you to cross the arms of a lagoon on foot and go through the small central island to access the beach directly. There you can enjoy a little yacht club and some nice beach restaurants. Our favorite one is Eden, a nice central beach bar and restaurant with delicious breakfasts and cocktails. It is perfect for appreciating sunsets.
